Don and Betty Musgnung

The Musgnungs’ story starts in the early 1990s when Don and his wife, Betty, hired Anthony Builders for the addition of a fourth bedroom to their colonial-style home in Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania. “It was a tricky job since they had to remove part of the roof over the garage and family room, leaving both areas temporarily exposed,” says Don. “Of course, we were concerned how long the interior would be exposed to the elements,” adds Don. “But we didn’t have to worry; Anthony’s brought a large crew on site, and in one afternoon, had framed the new bedroom and had it back under roof.”

The Musgnungs returned to Anthony Builders about two years later for the construction of an additional two-car garage and an attached 12’ by 12’ breezeway to their home. “It was certainly a more straightforward than our first job, but like before, we were pleased with the quality and service,” explains Don.

In 2012, they hired Anthony Builders again, this time, to work on Don’s dad’s Cape Cod. “We wanted to add a second-floor bathroom and remodel one of the bedrooms on that level so we could stay and help dad out,” continues Don. The challenge was bringing plumbing to the second floor without damaging the walls and ceiling on the first floor, and Anthony’s crew had no problem. “When finished, it was a comfortable, convenient space for us.”

The Musgnungs’ most recent project consisted of adding a spacious 12’ by 8’ bath off the master bedroom, which meant adding a room over the lower level breakfast nook. The existing smaller bath also converted beautifully into a roomy 5’ by 7’ walk-in closet. For their new bath, the Musgnungs decided on a few special touches, including a beautiful vanity and matching cabinets in solid maple with a rich cherry finish. The countertop is cultured marble with ‘his and her’ molded sinks. “We’ve always wanted a larger bath off our bedroom; now we have it.”
